Big Lake Paddle

Our team of WAVpaddling Instructors took an early season spin near Elk Island in late April

Mick Lautt, Trevor Simms, Scott Palmer, Jamie Hilland, Lori Neufeld and I spent a day getting back in touch with the wter, our boats and each other.

Did I mention, Lori was 81/2 months pregnant at the time and has since delivered a baby girl paddler!

Water levels were low and we waded across the sand spit connecting Elk Island (right) to Victoria Beach.

Once across we checked out the limestone cliffs along the SW point of the Island.
Turkey vultures are often seen nesting in the fractures.
Mick took a closer look.

Finally......
File this under  "glad I brought a camera cause you see the most amazing things out on the Lake.....

.....If water levels fall, simply cycle the Lake......
